One of our aims at Syrian Friends in Britain is to reach out to all our Syrian compatriots in Britain, wherever they are.

To that aim, we set out to arrange a Dish Party in the Midlands, where a substantial number of our Members are based. So, one of our active and loyal Members, Mrs Chaden Eymech, took on the task of organizing this event.

Chaden searched for a suitable venue, and managed to identify a local Rugby Club. She then passed on the details to the Council, and we started the process of advertising the Event and promoting it.

Attendance on the day was very good. In addition to our 'regular' Members and supporters, we were all delighted to welcome new friends and get to know them. Very quickly, our new friends were made to feel as part of the SFiB Family. We, on the other hand, we were made to feel very welcome in Birmingham, at homeamongst friends and family.

Ater we all enjoyed the usual delights of the food on offer, everyone enjoyed a musical performance from Humam, who was enthusiastically assisted by the vocal efforts of our Members...

The children were kept entertained by an interesting experience, when they had the opportunity to handle various small animals and 'creepy-crawlies', under the close supervision of thetrained and experienced animal handlers.

All in all, our friends and Members had a lovely time, and we had the pleaseure of meeting new friends, some of whom even decided to join our Society!..
